You got a poor kid that wins 'American Idol' and then he's expected to be on the same level or playing field as the Rolling Stones or U2 or Bon Jovi the next day. That's not fair ... We were allowed to have the third album be the one that was the breakthrough record. I don't know if a kid these days is ...
The Pariser Platz was the scene for a joyful celebration of peace, love, freedom and music that Berlin will never forget. Congratulations to U2 and MTV for bringing this unique moment of musical history to the city of Berlin.
MTV wants to ensure that the 10,000 music fans expected to attend tonight's production enjoy a safe and happy experience. To that end, MTV placed a temporary security fence around the site perimeter. Under no circumstances did MTV build a 'wall' of any kind in or around the U2 production site.
It's a shame that a barrier has been set up. It's stopping many Berliners from hearing the concert. We don't know who's responsible for this, whether it's U2 or MTV. Ten thousand people is a lot, but U2 could have had an even bigger audience enjoying their music at this wonderful location.
I love to see an outsized band like U2 behaving like they're in the kindergarten and just doing what you do with your first album -- taking it to the market, setting up your table, selling your wares, selling it out the street corners, giving out fliers ... I think selling out is when you stop believing...

It’s nothing about being revolutionary in music, it is nothing about being the next U2 or even the next Led Zeppelin. All I ever wanted to do and all I want to do is play drums
Some of these modern folk tunes have lyrics with a Christian message, and we can find it in songs from artists such as Lauren Hill, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash — and U2
I think U2’s music, but particularly Bono’s lyrics, are perfect for the context of church and worship
If I was out longer than I am now, I would never have this album out ... I'm anxious to finish this project since it wasn't an easy one from the beginning. I discovered that I have a hard time writing when I'm in a super-happy place. I'm amazed by bands like U2 that can do that.
In a direct emulation of Apple’s iTunes LP and App Store, U2 and BlackBerrymaker, RIM, claim the new app, 'invigorates the album experience for the digital age,'
With today's announcement, we are reinventing the album experience for the digital age. We're extremely excited by the U2 Mobile Album and the opportunity to enhance the mobile music experience for U2 fans on the BlackBerry platform
Italian film score composer Ennio Morricone, avant-garde theater director Bob Wilson, architect Daniel Libeskind, and Bono, the lead singer of the group U2. American video artist Bill Viola was asked but has already said he won't be able to attend.
There will be lots of different (electronic) triggering mechanisms on stage ... I guess the way we're approaching it is like every other big band does. Like in U2, if Edge is playing guitar, he can't play the synth part, unless he triggers it.
