20, 2012 - With the commitment of Tyrone Swoopes, some Texas fans are wondering if there will be a shift in the Longhorns' offensive philosophy. And for good reason, as Swoopes is an incredible runner and a physically gifted, but incredibly raw, thrower.
In the pass-heavy offense, he broke several records and paved the way for future BYU stars like Jim McMahon and Steve Young. He was the first quarterback taken in a very bad year for quarterbacks and he actually had the best career out of any of the 10...
The list gets pretty pedestrian after Flynn with Jason Campbell, Kyle Orton and Alex Smith possibly being the most notable. Some of the more interesting names that aren't likely to get much press are Josh Johnson, Brian Hoyer (restricted) and Vince Young.
Tyrone Swoopes is still a junior in high school, he is expected to have a massive impact on the 40 Acres. Comparisons to Vince Young have already begun. Texas has been looking for a quarterback like Swoopes since Young was drafted in the first round of...
Schmitt should be a higher priority, only fullback isn't very prevalent in this offense. Regardless, he knows the system, and McCoy was effective running behind Schmitt in short yardage situations this season. There could be competition for his job, but...
Less than a minute ago When the Philadelphia Eagles gave quarterback Vince Young a second chance in the NFL I don’t think he dreamt it would fall to ruins like it did. Coined the “dream team” before the 2011 season opened the Eagles were a hot topic...
If not through the draft or via trade, the last, and most likely scenario, is free agency. Of the plausible free-agent quarterbacks available that could be signed by Denver, the one that most pops out is none other than Vince Young. Why do I say Young...
Swoopes is a 6'5", 220-pound QB from Whitewright, TX that is very similar to Jameis Winston. He's a tall, dual threat type of QB that can dazzle with his arm and legs. In fact, because of his size and skill set, and of course where he's going to...
The high school coach of Texas' newest recruit for 2013 — Whitewright quarterback Tyrone Swoopes — thinks the Longhorns' latest commitment has the potential to end the search. "With what he's capable of doing, I think the Vince Young and Cam Newton...
Swoopes. Ranked as the 11th best player in the entire nation, Swoopes hails from Whitewright, TX, and has picked up offers from Alabama, LSU, Notre Dame, Stanford, and other top tier programs. Many recruiting gurus claim that Swoopes has a style similar...
The competition is high, we always know the NFC East is going to be a dog fight. We're just trying to put together the best possible team we can.” Last year became even more frustrating when the Giants – a team the Eagles beat in mid-November with...
(T.O is 38, Moss 35). Brandt added, “most teams are beyond signing players for name value without an ability that matches it.” (That trend apparently doesn’t apply to a certain team that decided it was a good idea to add Vince Young, Ronnie Brown and...
Free agency starts March 13. Will these quarterback parings happen? We’ll see, but it’s interesting to consider in mid-February. In other AFC West news: San Diego general manager A.J. Smith talks about the team’s plans in free agency. Kansas City coach...
Baylor QB Robert Griffin III? Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette answers Steelers questions. Texans LB Brian Cushing is a certified beast. The Jaguars have a favorable 2012 schedule. The Titans have signed DT Lamar Divens. Denver could be a...
Michael Vick, Carson Palmer, and Aaron Rodgers each made multiple Pro Bowls as well and accounted for an average of five successful seasons apiece. (Vince Young made two Pro Bowls as well but I don’t consider 12 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 2006...
Carson Palmer trade. For the first time in a half-decade, Campbell will not go into training camp with a starting job all but locked up. His best bet may be to re-join QBs coach Jim Zorn in Kansas City as competition for Matt Cassel. Prediction: Chiefs...
He didn’t catch a single pass during one three-game stretch after being demoted from the starting lineup. He didn’t create receiving opportunities for others by drawing double-teams like before. Moss apologists can point to Tennessee’s unsettled...
It turned out well with all things considered, so their stance can only be emboldened. On smaller scales, the Eagles drafted DeSean Jackson, Jack Ikegwuonu and Winston Justice despite at least some character concerns. They signed Vince Young who was a...
It gave him extra motivation to improve his skills as a pocket passer and learn the Eagles' system. He did just that, and earned a $100 million contract because of it. But then in 2011, with Kevin Kolb traded to the Arizona Cardinals and Vince Young...
I think that it's safe to say that LaDainian Tomlinson's career has come to an end. He compiled just 280 yards in 14 games this past season with the New York Jets. L.T. turns 33 this summer and should receive little to no interest this offseason. Vince...
Vincent Paul Young, Jr. (born May 18, 1983 in Houston, Texas), commonly Vince Young, or "VY", is an award-winning American football player. Young is a quarterback for the National Football League's Tennessee Titans. Young played college football for The University of Texas. Full Article

View Photo »We're definitely upset about some things
Quarterback Michael Vick and wide receiver Jeremy Maclin have been ruled out of Thursday's game against Seattle. Vince Young will make his third consecutive start at quarterback while Vick is sidelined by broken ribs. Vick threw on the side yesterday, but has not participated in practice.
You saw the Giants go down ... So all we have to do is just take care of our responsibilities. I tell all of the guys that I’ve been in this situation before. You know, 0-6 and we ended the season (in Tennessee) just a game short of missing the playoffs. And then, the one year we did go. So we just have...
I want to go out there and compete and lead my team to combat and make sure that I’m calling the plays right, adjusting and doing all of the different things from practice and bring it out to the game field ... So that’s pretty much all that’s on my mind.
He’s a tough guy and you never know with him, so you just have to prepare yourself ... It’s pretty much the same each week, even from Week 1, Week 2. You know, it’s just preparation, you never know what goes on and you always have to be prepared.
Game planning [and] just making sure that you know everything that’s going on ... I know we crammed everything in today but you just have to get a little extra study time in and I feel like everybody should be okay.
I tell all of the guys that I've been in this situation before ... You know, 0-6, and we ended the season just a game short of the playoffs. We just have to continue to keep working and worry about ourselves and not worry about anyone else.
It's really nothing too different about it
It's the same thing each week ... He's a tough guy. You never know with him.
I wasn’t really paying attention ... I saw him throwing the ball a little bit but you never know. He’s a tough guy and I just put that in the hands of the training staff.
Guys are just working ... We’re definitely upset about some things. We have the right to be because we’re all competitors and we love to compete, we love winning games. But at the same time we can’t let that stuff drag us and now we have to get back to work because like I said, it’s another game coming ...
I’m not really thinking about that right now ... I’m just, like I said I want to go out there and compete and lead my team to combat and make sure that I’m calling the plays right, adjusting and doing all of the different things from practice and bring it out to the game field.
Even from Week 1, Week 2, you know it's just preparation, you never know what goes on and you always have to be prepared
We all left a lot of plays out there on the field ... But I give respect to the Patriots. They did a good job. So we’ve pretty much got to move on. We’ve got a quick turnaround to get ready for Thursday night.
You've just always got to have respect for Belichick and for his team
The fans don’t understand some of the situations in the games ... You can’t put it all on Andy.
I’m just now getting a full taste of this type of stuff ... Andy’s a tremendous guy. I have the utmost respect for him. Fans don’t understand some of the situations that go on with the game. You can’t really put it all on Andy. Us players have to go out and play the game as well, I say that out of the u...
Andy's a tremendous guy ... I have the utmost respect for him. Fans don't understand some of the situations that goes on during the game. You can't put it all on Andy. We're going to always continue to keep fighting hard, playing hard for him.
Not really disappointed ... Sometimes you don’t make a catch, sometimes I don’t make the throw. You know, pretty much for anybody.
I have respect for each and every one of the guys on this team and I know he gave 100 percent effort ... Sometimes you don't make a catch — sometimes I don't make the throw.
Fans don’t understand some of the situations that go on with the game ... You can’t really put it all on Andy.
You can't really put it all on Andy ... Us players still got to go out and play the games as well. I say that out of the utmost respect for Andy. We're going to always continue to keep fighting hard, playing for him.
They’re a very respectable team and like I said earlier, we just want to take care of the ball, be very patient
My goals for this game are the same as they were last week, to just make plays, score points and try to lead the guys to a victory ... Our mind-set is taking care of the ball and trying to keep (Patriots quarterback Tom) Brady off the field because they have a really explosive offense.
Just play the game, respect the call, be aggressive and if you have a mistake, put it in the past, go to the sideline and try to correct it ... I want to preach that to the rest of the guys that if they make a mistake to put it in the past and get ready for the next play.
