I know we needed two first downs to win, with no timeouts for them ... That's Marion Barber time. We challenged our offensive line on the sideline. We told them we needed first downs to win, and they did it.
A lot of questions were answered for me last night. 1. In a big game could Romo play mistake free football down the stretch like T.Brady, B. Rothlisberger, and P.Manning? (YES HE DID) 2. Full Article at Dallas Morning News - Blogs
Perhaps lost in the hysteria created by Miles Austin's meteoric rise; Romo's improved game management and the Cowboys' subsequent four game win streak, is a player on the defensive side of the ball that might quietly be making the biggest impact of... Full Article at Bleacher Report
After the 2006 season, legendary coaches in Dallas and San Diego lost their jobs. For Bill Parcells in Dallas, it was his own decision; he no longer wanted to be a head coach. Marty Schottenheimer on the other hand was fired because of a "one-and-done" Full Article at Sports Blogs

You might want to hold back your slobbering all over McDaniels, at least until he has coached a full year in the NFL. Are you a journalist or a cheerleader? You can't look at McDaniels' 'extensive' work in the league and conclude he is a better coach than Wade Phillips of Dallas.
What Dallas Cowboys coach Wade Phillips had to say after the Cowboys 20-16 win over the Philadelphia Eagles, plus what he could have said: On being in first place alone in the NFC East: What Wade said: Were still only 1-1 in division. Full Article at Fort Worth Star-Telegram
I root for the Philadelphia Eagles twice a year. At Dallas, and against Dallas at home. That's it. So last night, I tuned in hoping that the Philadelphia team that beat up on the New York Giants would show up, and take advantage of a weaker Dallas team. Full Article at Bleacher Report

Seattle did a good job of planning things they thought were going to be successful against us ... Then our guys got a good feel for what they were trying to do.
I thought he played better and ran his best after that stretch last game (Seattle), and he looked good today ... More and more, I think we'll see the Marion Barber that we know and love.
He's a Pro Bowl-caliber player and he's playing at that level this year again ... He's not out yet, but if he weren't to play that certainly sets you back some.
He’s a Pro Bowl-caliber player, and he’s playing at that level this year again, so if he weren’t able to play, it would set you back some ... He’s such a good pass rusher. You just don’t find that at the nose guard position. A lot of defensive tackles don’t rush as well as he does either.
I was around Merriman, he had 17 sacks in 12 games. Of course, Reggie White and Bruce Smith were special. (Ware) is special. He's a special guy in that way
When you get a tight end that can get away from linebackers or safeties, it's just a hard matchup ... They've been utilizing him really well. It hasn't taken long for the quarterback (Matt Ryan) to get on the same page with him.
That's part of it. We play on Sunday, Monday, Thursdays, you have to be adjustable to be on the Dallas Cowboys ... Some other teams play every week at the same time, that's a nice thing and a good routine and it helps your team that way. But it's not the Dallas Cowboys. You come in with the Dallas Cowbo...

I know Dallas (3-2) was penalized 13 times for 90 yards and Romo overthrew several open receivers. Our guys fought the whole game but we didn't do all the right things ... There are things we need to work on, but the bottom line is winning and guys coming through.
He rushed the passer better [against Denver]. He got a lot of hits on the quarterback and played the run well ... I thought he made a step forward.
Larry Johnson's a really top back ... And he's played well in bad conditions, I can tell you that. Man, he was a warhorse in that game. And I know (Cowboys defensive coordinator Dave) Campo said at Jacksonville he had a big game against them up there in bad weather conditions.
I do think we are getting better defensively ... I do think they are getting a feel for each other, how to play and what we are doing. But we still need to come through at the end of the game. We had an opportunity in the two games we lost. There were some good signs there, but the big sign says we didn...
Denver played well on defense, but we just didn't seem in sync enough in the second half for whatever reason
It's kind of their running game too, the short passing game ... I mean, they did it in New England. (Former Patriots offensive coordinator and current Notre Dame coach) Charlie Weis was a big screen guy. It's just their formula to keep you off balance. And they run wide receiver screens, halfback screen...
Denver is a good team. We caught them at a tough time ... They were No. 1 in the league in defense coming into this game and they were playing at home.
They are probably doubling him more than they have, certainly ... He's had a number of hits on the quarterback. I think it's unrealistic to say you're going to get 20 sacks in a year. ... He's getting a lot of pressure on the quarterback. I don't think Denver is going to say, 'Hey, we don't have to put ...
Denver and Dallas both, they expect a lot, and I think it helps the teams ... They want to meet expectations, and I think that helps the teams be better overall just because they have a lot of pressure to do well. I have been in some places where they didn't care as much as the Denver fans or Dallas fan...

They do run quite a few screens ... Partly it's kind of their running game too, the short passing game. I mean they did in New England. Charlie Weis was a big screen guy. You can't judge yourself on whether you get fired or not because you're going to get fired ... There aren't many coaches that retire. I got fired, we were 11-5 (in 1980 with the Houston Oilers). We had been to two AFC championship games and we got fired. I thought I was a good coach, and they fired me. ...
Steve Smith is a special receiver and certainly a Pro Bowl-type receiver ... He makes plays that other guys don't make and he can also turn a short play into a long touchdown. And he's a competitor.
