View Photo »It's kind of their running game too, the short passing game ... I mean, they did it in New England. (Former Patriots offensive coordinator and current Notre Dame coach) Charlie Weis was a big screen guy. It's just their formula to keep you off balance. And they run wide receiver screens, halfback screen...
Denver is a good team. We caught them at a tough time ... They were No. 1 in the league in defense coming into this game and they were playing at home.

You can't judge yourself on whether you get fired or not because you're going to get fired ... There aren't many coaches that retire. I got fired, we were 11-5 (in 1980 with the Houston Oilers). We had been to two AFC championship games and we got fired. I thought I was a good coach, and they fired me. ...
Steve Smith is a special receiver and certainly a Pro Bowl-type receiver ... He makes plays that other guys don't make and he can also turn a short play into a long touchdown. And he's a competitor.
We hadn't been in it (with the doors open), so there could be some wind, but Texas Stadium didn't have much wind ... I don't foresee it being a problem.
