Wally Szczerbiak's expiring contract, Sasha Pavlovic, cap fodder and two crappy No. 1s for Redd and Dan Gadzuric's awful contract
The L-Train will not stay in Cleveland because 'help' has arrived ... and by help I mean Wally Szczerbiak!
My first mind-set going into the game was defense ... I wanted to turn the ball, like I'd been saying, and pressure the ball and make it hard for Delonte [West] to make those passes to Wally [Szczerbiak]. I started the game 0 for 3, but I just wanted to stay confident and continue to shoot the ball.
He had a great look to start on the first play of the game, a wide-open elbow shot. Those will fall for Ray, eventually. I'm not that concerned by that. On the other hand, we can't let Wally [Szczerbiak] get going. Everything we live through is on the defensive end and the offense will come.
Wally isn't quite LeBron [James] size, but he is a big strong guy ... He is better suited at times to guard some of the big guys underneath than chasing around smaller guys outside.
So the criteria to win the job is fluid and none of the parties seem to be demanding the position. Considering all that, there may not be a clear winner. It's an open book right now ... Who knows, it could change many times during the season. I know it is fun to talk about, but maybe don't read into who starts too much.
It's a puzzle, you don't always put your best scorer or shooter in that spot ... You have to take a lot of things into account.
