Iceland's Samson has sought temporary protection from its creditors, the holding company said in a statement Tuesday. The company is owned by West Ham soccer club owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson and his son Bjorgolfur Thor Bjorgolfsson. It also has a 41 percent stake in Landsbanki, Iceland's second-largest bank, which was nationalized Tuesday amid a financial meltdown on the tiny island nation.
