To date all such steps indicate that we do have customers seeing reports of battery health issues and in all cases we have investigated Windows 7 has simply accurately detected a failing battery
We are pleased that NVIDIA continues to innovate for Windows 7 users
There’s been the battery issue, where users claim that Windows 7 is causing battery deterioration, and on top of that claims that a reliability patch released by Microsoft is actually causing problems.
Over the past few weeks, Windows 7 has been hit by several problems, which while being high profile, may or may not only exist in the minds of the users
Every single indication we have regarding the reports we’ve seen are simply Windows 7 reporting the state of the battery using [its] new feature and we’re simply seeing batteries that are not performing above the designated threshold
If what you are saying is true, then we simply have a different problem: Windows 7 provides dramatically worse battery life than any of the operating systems that preceded it
There are hundreds of postings here explaining the problem. Immediately after installing Windows 7, people's batteries are effectively 'dying.' Numerous people have purchased NEW batteries and encountered the same behavior immediately. The OS is causing this for some reason. Not saying it's damaging the...
Windows 7 has simply accurately detected a failing battery.
There is no way for Windows 7 or any other OS to write, set or configure battery status information ... All of the battery actions of charging and discharging are completely controlled by the battery hardware. Some reports erroneously claimed Windows was modifying this information, which is definitely n...
Windows 7 is neither incorrectly reporting on battery status nor in any way whatsoever causing batteries to reach this state
To the very best of the collective ecosystem knowledge, Windows 7 is correctly warning batteries that are in fact failing
Several press articles this past week have drawn attention to blog and forum postings by users claiming that Windows 7 is warning them to 'consider replacing your battery' in systems which appeared to be operating satisfactorily before upgrading to Windows 7
Everything we use in our office runs Windows 7; if our computers are compromised, our clients are vulnerable.
The number one biggest attribute of Windows 7 is increased speed; I'd estimate it is up to 30 percent faster. We upgraded to 64-bit to take advantage of the additional power.
Windows 7 Aero desktop and Taskbar features like Peek, Shake, Hover, Pinning and Jump Lists are all great navigations tools. They make document handling all the more easy. Nicely done!
The speed of the Boot and Resume features of Windows 7 is the next best thing to instant on
Some of our customers running Windows 7 have reported different battery run times depending on their model, usage, PC settings and more
Microsoft has been made aware that some computers running Windows 7 receive a warning that the battery needs to be replaced when the battery is new or in good health
It should stand to reason that some customers would be surprised to see this warning after upgrading a PC that was previously operating fine. Essentially the battery was degrading but it was not evident to the customer until Windows 7 made this information available.
Every single indication we have regarding the reports weve seen are simply Windows 7 reporting the state of the battery using this new feature and were simply seeing batteries that are not performing above the designated threshold
Ive got a pre-release candidate of Windows 7 running
After I upgraded my Toshiba Satellite P-305 from Vista to Windows 7, my battery life went down to about 25 minutes, and asked me to replace my battery ... I bought a 9 cell replacement battery but the message persists and the new battery will not hold a charge.
Upgrading to Windows 7 my 6 cell battery that used to last about 2 hours when unplugged when I had Vista, not lasts less than 10 minutes
