This is just a stunt to suggest that, well, he's got some different idea. It's not a different idea - it's a good idea, but it's the same idea as John Howard had and Prime Minister [Yasuo] Fukuda of Japan has and so the list goes on.
It is welcome that the leader of such an important nation stands in front of the world and says that China is serious about the relationship at the highest level. Not only was it a direct comment about the recent meeting that took place, but it was also in the context of a historic press conference [with Japanese PM Yasuo Fukuda].
Most Japanese people are angry with China ... But (Prime Minister Yasuo) Fukuda is not listening to our voices.
Yasuo Fukuda attributes large significance to these issues. He would like to hold profound debates with the Russian leaders bearing in mind the similarity of Japanese and Russian positions. The premier plans to explain the essence of the Japanese suggestion of industrial limits on the discharge of greenhouse gases in each country and hopes to gain Russian support
I also express hope that Yasuo Fukuda settles the debt owed by Japanese war criminals to the people of the world especially the UK, China, Phillipines, Korea. It would be fitting for the Emperor to go to these countries and get down on his knees and beg forgiveness and then compensate financially
