The victory in the first match (against New Zealand) looked easy but after the first 10 overs we were in trouble
Younis Khan has himself asked the board to excuse him for the coming tour to New Zealand as he wants a break from international cricket
If team needs me and since matches are to be held in Dubai, it will be nice to play here
As on now, Shahid Afridi is the captain for the shortest version of the game while Younis Khan is our Test and ODI captain
Although we have a lot of supporters in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, we still need to play some games in Pakistan ... I hope that we'll soon play again in Pakistan.
It's a new experience and format under two captains - Younis Khan and Shahid Afridi ... The new selection [method] has expanded selection and created more opportunities for players. The selection committee has taken various aspects into consideration while picking longer version, shorter version and Twe...
He [Afridi] is a fantastic performer ... The last couple of years he worked well with the bowling but now his batting is there so it's good for Pakistan. It was a complete professional performance led by the fantastic Afridi and [Kamran] Akmal. They changed the game after we were in trouble in the first...
If he wants to play (Twenty20) he is more than welcome. I will even step down from the captaincy and play under Younis Khan
We need to field very well, and this is one area where we need improvement as New Zealand have a clear edge on us in this department
I have not accepted Younis Khan's resignation
This team is not anyone's personal property and we are all playing for one country ... Our aim is common, and that is to ensure victory for Pakistan.
But we can't move forward until we know from the Board about whether Younis Khan is going to continue as captain as obviously we have to consult the captain while finalising the squad
It's not [a revenge series] but all the Pakistan players have it in their minds, if possible, to beat New Zealand ... In cricket and sport there is no revenge, but we won't forget that loss.
When you made Younis Khan the new captain after removing Shoaib Malik, you were obviously thinking long-term
I hope he (Butt) returns home after having positive negotiations with the Indian board officials and there is some progress towards restoring bilateral cricket ties with India
Younis Khan has placed a demand of captaining the side until World Cup 2011 if the PCB [Pakistan Cricket Board] wants him to take back the resignation
I remember Shoaib Malik as captain used to smoke all the time
It's not the right thing to do ... It's the right of the (sports) committee to inquire about sports activities in the country, Younis Khan is a great player and he should not have resigned.
New Zealand did very well in the Champions Trophy and I hope we could avenge our defeat by playing as a team against them
I think, it would be better if the PCB change the captain (Younis Khan) and give the responsibility to Afridi. As Younis himself has said it does not bother him if he is not the captain and willing to play as a senior member of the side
New Zealand is like Sri Lanka and Australia as they also play as a unit, so when we play such a team we have to play as a unit to beat them ... I hope that it will be a good series.
Since we landed late, the organisers had decided against engaging the team in a press conference. Captain Younis Khan is scheduled to address a press conference on Saturday morning. Till then no media conference is allowed except at the end of the warm-up game
If you look at the New Zealand squad it is one of the three teams along with Sri Lanka and Australia who play well as a unit
