What I love about Zinfandel is that there is not a typical Zinfandel style. Zin is a blank canvas.

That's unusual. Zinfandel is usually done in half that time. I think that the wine gets more layers and more structure that way.
A strong Zinfandel, tannic, high in alcohol and fruity, and brimming with wild forest cherry and raspberry liqueur, exotic spices and sweet sandalwood. Drink it with a juicy cheeseburger, a spicy beef burrito and just a nice roast chicken.
I go with intense reds with a really spicy taste like a cabernet or a zinfandel with bitter chocolate
The moscato phenomenon is just that -- it is white zinfandel in a mini skirt and high leather boots. It will pass. Just like Blue Nun, Thunderbird and Yago Sangria passed.
It is a hedonistic blend of Zinfandel, Cabernet, Syrah, Petite Sirah, Charbono, a Kitchen Sink, Grenache and a steering wheel from a ’68 Cuda.
Then when you pair with wine, a buttery chardonnay, say, or cabernet franc or even a zinfandel, it really is a great pairing.
